The Ministry of Transport today inaugurated an additional 20-kilometer section of road between Coloneşti and Albota on the Craiova-Piteşti expressway. This section is the last step before the connection between Dx12 and the A1. Thus, motorists can now travel entirely on the expressway between Albota and Balş, significantly reducing travel time.

The total length of the Craiova-Piteşti expressway is 121 kilometers and is divided into four sections: Section 1: Craiova - Robăneşti (17.7 km): expected to be opened tomorrow, November 29, 2024. Section 2: Robăneşti - Slatina (40 km): fully opened to traffic in 2022. Section 3: Slatina - Coloneşti (31.7 km): the entire section was opened in 2023. Section 4: Coloneşti - Piteşti (32 km): today 20 kilometers were opened, with the remaining part expected to be inaugurated in the near future. The opening of these sections is in line with Ford Otosan's investment plans to be carried out in Craiova.

In the last two years, the company has invested nearly half a billion euros, including in a battery assembly capacity necessary for electric cars. Three electric vehicles will be produced in Craiova: the E-Transit, the E-Tourneo Courier, and the Puma Gen-E models.
