MALACKY / The highway connecting the Czech Republic and Slovakia is considered one of the most dangerous stretches, especially during peak traffic times. Unfortunately, fatal accidents frequently occur on this section. Such a tragedy happened on Tuesday, October 1st. The severe accident that occurred in the morning hours restricted traffic on the D2 highway, from Malacky towards Bratislava. For reasons not yet clarified, around a quarter to seven, a passenger car collided with a truck. Rescue units arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The driver of the passenger car lost his life as a result of the accident. "The operator of the 155 emergency line quickly dispatched medical assistance to the scene. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old man died on the spot due to his injuries," informed Petra Klimešová, spokesperson of the Slovak Emergency Medical Service Operations Center.
