Furthermore, the goal is for every county in Romania to be connected to the motorway network by 2031. Next year, we aim to open between 250 and 300 kilometers of road, as the complete construction of the A7 motorway is also expected next year. We are currently working on implementing the government plans. By 2028, we want to make at least 200 kilometers of motorway and expressway accessible, and by 2031, connect every county to the main infrastructure.
It is not enough to reach only the county seat; it must also be ensured that county centers are connected to major road networks. This means that Romania will be fully connected to the motorway and expressway network. This is an ambitious goal based on the road construction experience of the last four to five years, and we know that we are capable of more than we currently achieve. It is crucial that future governments do not reduce the necessary financing and ensure it is available in time, as failure to maintain the current pace would pose a great risk, even though I believe we should speed up.
