Shipments from Austria are arriving smoothly on the roads.

The Austrian flood situation only caused temporary disruptions in road transportation. The affected companies, with prior warnings and route information, designated alternative routes, thus avoiding significant issues and stranded shipments on the routes between Austria and Hungary.
The Hungarian Road Transport Association (MKFE) announced that previous closures on the Austrian A1, A2, and A3 motorways have been lifted, and currently, there are no significant disruptions. However, traffic congestion may still occur due to the traffic situations. The MKFE timely warned all its member companies about the conditions in Austria, enabling them to properly plan their shipments.
In such situations, road carriers seek alternative routes with the assistance of dispatchers, thereby ensuring the safety of drivers and goods. For example, Austria can be bypassed from the south via the Slovenia-Italy route, and from the north via the Slovakia-Czech Republic route.
The MKFE also drew attention to the border checks implemented in Germany on Monday. They advised that drivers involved in passenger transport, goods transport, and freight transport should check the validity of their identity documents before departure. It's especially important for tour bus companies to warn the travel agencies employing them and the passengers. German border guards may turn back those who do not possess valid identification documents.
Overall, the affected road users can expect traffic jams and longer travel times.
