Traffic Jams Return: Highways are increasingly congested, the M1 has come to a standstill

In several parts of the country, severe traffic disruptions and accidents are making things difficult for drivers. The situation is particularly critical on the M1 motorway, where two accidents occurred on the side heading towards Hegyeshalom. At Bicske, two cars collided, the inner lane has been closed, and the congestion exceeds 8 kilometers. Using Main Road 1 to Bicske is recommended, though significant slow-moving traffic is also expected here.

In the Tata area, multiple vehicles collided, and near Mocsa, another car caught fire. The single-lane traffic here is causing more than 5 kilometers of congestion. Meanwhile, there are significant disruptions on the M5 motorway as well: due to an accident at the Örkény junction, the congestion is 7 kilometers long. Traffic is flowing in the outer lane, and the involved vehicles have been powered down. On the M7 motorway between Törökbálint and Székesfehérvár, the crowd heading towards Lake Balaton is slowing traffic, and intermittent congestion is expected. Additional accidents have occurred at various points across the country: - On Main Road 31, between Mende and Gyömrő, a car hit a utility pole, and the road has been closed. - On Road 21105, at Csömör, two cars collided, and the vehicles were powered down due to an accident at the M0 on-ramp. - On Main Road 37, near the border of Sárospatak, four cars collided, and half of the roadway has been closed. - On Main Road 55, near Mórahalom, a car ran off the road, and traffic is alternating on half of the road. Furthermore, fires broke out in several parts of Hungary, also affecting traffic and public safety: - On the outskirts of Mártély, approximately three hectares of scrub were burning, successfully extinguished by firefighters from Hódmezővásárhely and local volunteers. - On the outskirts of Tótkomlós, about 350 straw bales caught fire, being extinguished by several firefighting units. - A fire broke out at a waste disposal site on the outskirts of Cegléd, affecting about 1000 square meters; firefighters from multiple towns jointly extinguished the flames.
