Construction work on the future highway route near Trutnov will continue not only during the day but also at night. Between Královec and Bernartice, where the D11 highway will first be completed, six bridges, a grade-separated intersection, and the I/16 road exit will be built. The temporary connection to the first-class road will be used by drivers until the entire section between Trutnov and the Polish border is completed.

"Building the highway from Trutnov towards the Polish border is an extremely challenging task. It is important to make the most of the short period before winter," explained Zdeněk Ludvík, head of MI Roads. Workers are operating construction machinery at several locations near Královec. Currently, they are mostly focused on removing topsoil. Trucks are lined up in the fields, transporting the excavated soil. The construction companies will excavate and relocate a total of four million cubic meters of soil, equivalent to 500,000 fully loaded trucks. "Within ten days, we are expected to begin excavating slopes and constructing embankments and the roads leading to the bridges."

In parallel, we are continuing to develop foundation plans for the bridges to enable the laying of foundations to begin in the new year," said Michal Jurman, spokesperson for MI Roads. A total of 28 bridges will be built between Trutnov and the Polish border. Two half-kilometer tunnels will also be constructed, along with grade-separated intersections at Královec, Střítež, and Poříčí, as well as ten noise barriers totaling 1,615 meters in length. "The three and a half kilometer highway leading to the state border is a priority, but we are likely to start work in other areas including Trutnov in the spring, where a complex overpass will be constructed," noted Jan Jelínek, project construction manager.
